Cookie Policy

1. Scope of this cookie policy

This Cookie Policy applies to the website aiandsync.com, which is operated by Sync REM Solutions Kft. (the "Operator").

This Policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies AI & Sync uses on the website, why, and how to control them. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal data generally.

"Cookies" here also covers localStorage, sessionStorage and similar browser storage, which are subject to the same consent rules under the ePrivacy Directive.

The mobile application does not use cookies. It authenticates with a token held in the device's secure storage.

2. Cookies we use

We use cookies and similar technologies only to operate and secure the website: maintaining your session, protecting the forms you submit, and remembering preferences you have chosen. We set no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies of any kind. The page-view and page-speed measurement we run sets nothing on your device at all (§5).

Some of the cookies and storage technologies we use are temporary and are automatically deleted when you close your browser or tab. Others are preference cookies that remain on your device for up to 182 days so that, if you return to the website, your browser remembers your previous settings, including your cookie preferences and other selected website preferences.

3. How consent works

Everything we set is strictly necessary, so there is nothing to consent to. Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, cookies that are essential to deliver a service you asked for do not require consent, and we set no others.

When you first visit, a banner tells you this. It is a notice rather than a choice: acknowledging it records that you have seen it, and the panel behind "See what we set" lists the cookies in question, which are the same ones listed in §4 below.

We do not use cookie walls: refusing non-necessary cookies does not restrict access to any part of the site.

Browser storage

Browser storage technologies are not technically cookies. They are nevertheless assessed under the applicable rules governing access to and storage of information on a user's device.

5. Analytics and tracking

Measurement without cookies. We use two tools from our hosting provider, Vercel Inc.: Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views, and Vercel Speed Insights, which measures how quickly pages load. Neither sets a cookie or stores anything on your device, which is why they are described here rather than offered as a choice in the banner: Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive is about storing or reading information on your device, and these tools do neither.

With each page view, Web Analytics records the page path, the referring site, an approximate location (country, region and city), your browser, operating system and device type, and the time. Visits are told apart by a hash derived from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours; the data is not tied to your IP address and cannot be used to follow you across other websites. Speed Insights records how fast the page loaded for you — the Core Web Vitals — together with the page path, connection speed, browser, device type and country. Page views inside the host dashboard and our internal administration are not sent to either tool. Vercel processes this data on our behalf, as described in §7.2 of the Privacy Policy.

We do not use conventional website analytics vendors such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Plausible, PostHog, Mixpanel, Segment, Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity. There are no advertising pixels, no attribution SDKs, and no trackers that follow you across sites. We do not sell data, and we do not share it with advertising networks.

Error tracking. We use Sentry to record errors so we can fix them. It receives the error itself, a stack trace, and a short trail of the actions that led to it.

We do not record your screen. Sentry offers a session replay feature that reconstructs what a visitor saw and did, including page content. We previously ran it. It is now switched off entirely, in every environment, rather than being offered as something to consent to.

Further information about the processing of personal data by Sentry, including the applicable legal basis, categories of data, retention periods and international transfers, is provided in the Privacy Policy.

6. Third-party cookies

We do not currently embed third-party content such as social media widgets, advertising, chat widgets, maps or embedded video players that place third-party cookies through the website. Fonts are self-hosted at build time and are not fetched from a third party at page load.

Our authentication provider and payment provider set their own cookies on their own domains when you are redirected to them to sign in or pay. Those are governed by their own policies.

7. Controlling cookies

  • In the banner — "See what we set" lists the cookies we use. There is nothing to switch off there, because everything we set is strictly necessary.
  • In your browser — you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and will stop the site working properly.
  • Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control — we set no tracking cookies to honour or ignore. If we ever introduce them, we will respect these signals.

We do not use tracking technologies for advertising or cross-site tracking, so there is no tracking for these signals to switch off. If that ever changes, we will honour them and say so here.

8. Changes

We update this Policy when the technologies we use change. Where a change requires new consent, the banner will ask again. The date at the top reflects the current version.

We may also update this Policy where required to reflect changes in applicable law, regulatory guidance, our service providers, or the technologies used on the website. Where a change materially affects the purposes, categories or legal basis of processing, or otherwise requires renewed consent, we will provide the relevant information and obtain renewed consent where required.
