Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (the "Terms" or this "Agreement"), including our Community Guidelines. Please read this Agreement, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, carefully before creating an account or using the Services.

These Terms govern your use of the AI & Sync service (the "Service"), operated by Sync REM Solutions Kft. The Service lets hosts create matchmaking events and participants take part in them, in person, with the help of automated compatibility scoring.

The Community Guidelines are part of these Terms and are incorporated by reference. Breaching them is a breach of these Terms.

A host may be a natural person or a legal entity. Whoever holds the host account is the organiser of the events created under it, and where the host is a legal entity the person operating the account does so on that entity's behalf and warrants that they are authorised to bind it.

A participant is always a natural person taking part in an event in their own capacity. A participant account may not be held by a legal entity or used on behalf of anyone else.

These Terms apply equally to all users of the Service, including both hosts and participants. By creating an account, creating or hosting an event, joining an event, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

We may notify you of changes to these Terms by email or through an in-app notification.

Participation is limited to persons aged 18 or older.

2. Service Provider

  • Legal name: Sync REM Solutions Kft. (Sync REM Solutions Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság)
  • Registered address: 2040 Budaörs, Szabadság út 219. 1. em. 2. ajtó
  • Company registration number: 13-09-248909
  • Tax identification number: 33113551-1-13
  • Email: support@aiandsync.com

3. Description of the Service

The Service consists of:

  • A web platform where hosts configure events — details, venue, capacity, age limits, visibility, and where applicable the questionnaire used for matching.
  • A mobile application through which participants build a profile, join an event, see other guests present at that event, and indicate interest.
  • Automated compatibility scoring that orders the people shown to you, and, for questionnaire-based events, generates suggested pairings for the host to release.
  • Payment processing for host packages.

The Service is advisory and introductory. It suggests who you might want to talk to. It does not promise a connection, an outcome, or a particular experience.

The Service is not a messaging platform. There is no chat. Contact details are automatically stripped from free text. The Service is designed so that people meet and exchange details in person.

While we take reasonable measures to operate the Service, we do not guarantee that participants are compatible, truthful, respectful, single, interested in dating, or that they will attend an event as planned. Any interaction between participants takes place at their own discretion and responsibility.

4. Eligibility and Age

You may create an account or use the Service only if you are 18 years old or older. Participant accounts are for natural persons only; a host account may be held by a natural person or by a legal entity, as set out in Section 1. The minimum age is enforced on our servers when you save a date of birth and again when you join an event, so a modified application cannot bypass it. We do not perform document-based age verification.

You are eligible to use the Service only if you have not committed, been convicted of, or pleaded guilty to any violent crime, crime involving the threat of violence, or sexual offense.

You must not have more than one account with the Service.

Providing a false age or identity is a material breach and may result in immediate termination without refund.

5. User Responsibilities

As a user of the Service, you are expected to:

  1. review these Terms from time to time so that you remain aware of any changes;
  2. comply with all applicable laws and regulations;
  3. keep the Website and/or Application updated to the latest available version;
  4. treat other users with courtesy and respect, both when using the Service and in any interactions outside the Service;
  5. present yourself honestly and authentically by adding at least one photograph in which your face is clearly visible;
  6. communicate respectfully with our customer support representatives and other members of our team and
  7. use a strong password and take reasonable steps to protect the security and confidentiality of your login credentials.

As a user of the Service, you agree not to:

  1. harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, abuse, defame, assault, or otherwise harm or mistreat another person;
  2. provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information concerning your identity, age, occupation, professional qualifications, background, or affiliation with any person or organization;
  3. request money, gifts, loans, or anything else of value from another user;
  4. request passwords, login credentials, or other personal information from users for commercial or unlawful purposes, or disclose another person's personal information without their authorization;
  5. publish, upload, transmit, or otherwise make available any content that is obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, excessively violent, defamatory, or otherwise offensive or inappropriate;
  6. use another person's account, allow anyone else to access your account, or otherwise share your account credentials;
  7. create or use another account after we have suspended or terminated your account, unless we have expressly authorized you to do so;
  8. encourage, assist, facilitate, or participate in conduct that violates these Terms or applicable law;
  9. introduce viruses, malware, malicious code, or other harmful software, or take any action intended to compromise the security or integrity of the Service or its infrastructure;
  10. use bots, crawlers, scrapers, automated scripts, or other automated means to access, collect, extract, reproduce, or otherwise obtain content or information from the Service, or to circumvent technical restrictions.

6. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be transferred or shared.

7. What We Do and Do Not Check

We take certain measures to help maintain the safety and integrity of the Service. These measures include enforcing the minimum age requirement on our servers, requiring users to take a live selfie through the Application when joining an event to help confirm that the person attending matches the profile, reviewing user-submitted text before publication and removing contact details from free-text content, reviewing uploaded photographs before publication, providing reporting and blocking tools, and removing users from events or from the Service where appropriate.

These measures have limitations and should not be understood as a guarantee that users are who they claim to be or that interactions through the Service will be safe.

We do not conduct criminal background checks or verify criminal records. We do not verify identity documents, employment history, education, marital status, or other information provided by users in their profiles. We do not supervise private interactions between users and do not attend or supervise events organized by hosts.

Users of the Service are strangers to one another. Compatibility scores are generated based on information provided by users and are intended only to indicate potential compatibility. They are not an assessment or guarantee of a person's identity, honesty, safety, character, intentions, or behaviour.

You are responsible for exercising your own judgment and taking appropriate precautions when interacting with other users, whether at an event or afterwards. We recommend meeting in public places, informing someone you trust about your plans, avoiding sharing sensitive personal information, and leaving an interaction or event if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

8. Host Role and Responsibilities

Hosts are independent operators, not our employees or agents. By creating or hosting an event through the Service, the host is responsible for the venue, its safety and licensing, the conduct of the event, age checks at the door, and compliance with local law. We provide the platform used to facilitate the event, but we do not organize, operate or run the event itself.

Hosts are responsible for selecting and managing the venue, ensuring that the venue is suitable and legally authorized for the event, maintaining appropriate safety measures, complying with all applicable laws and regulations, and ensuring that the event is conducted in accordance with its advertised format and conditions. Hosts must provide accurate and up-to-date information about each event, including its date, time, location, format, capacity, eligibility requirements, age restrictions, and any other material conditions applicable to participants.

Hosts are responsible for checking participants eligibility and age where required, enforcing the rules applicable to their event, and taking reasonable action in response to reports of harassment, misconduct, safety concerns, or other violations occurring at the event.

Participants attending an event must comply with the host's reasonable house rules, event-specific rules, and safety requirements, provided that such rules are communicated to participants and do not conflict with these Terms or applicable law.

Hosts must not use the Service to engage in unlawful, fraudulent, discriminatory, abusive, or misleading activities, or to circumvent any restrictions imposed by us. Hosts must also comply with these Terms and any additional rules or requirements communicated by us.

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate a host's access to the Service or to cancel, suspend, or remove an event where we reasonably believe that the host or event violates these Terms, applicable law, or creates a safety, legal, or reputational risk for us or our users.

9. Fees, Pricing and Currency

Host package prices are displayed before purchase and may consist of a base fee, a per-participant fee based on the selected event capacity, or other applicable charges. Any upgrades, optional features, or additional services may be subject to separate fees.

The applicable price is determined by our systems at the time of purchase. Prices are displayed in the currency selected at checkout. Any applicable taxes will be included in the displayed price or added at checkout, as required by applicable law.

Your purchase receipt and any applicable payment documentation are issued by our Merchant of Record, not by us (see Section 11).

Participants do not pay fees to us for using the Service. If a host charges participants an admission fee or any other amount in connection with an event, that payment is made under a separate agreement between the host and the participant. We are not a party to that agreement and are not responsible for the host's admission fees, refunds, cancellations, or other obligations towards participants.

Hosts are responsible for clearly communicating any fees charged to participants and for complying with all applicable laws and regulations relating to pricing, payments, refunds, taxes, and consumer rights.

10. Pricing Errors

We are not bound by obvious or manifest pricing errors, including where a price is displayed as zero, negative, or is clearly incorrect due to a technical or other error.

If we identify such an error after you have placed an order, we may cancel the affected order or transaction and will notify you accordingly. Where appropriate, we may offer you the option to complete the purchase at the correct price.

An automated order confirmation, payment confirmation, or similar notification does not prevent us from correcting an obvious pricing error or cancelling the affected transaction.

11. Payment and Merchant of Record

Host package purchases are sold through Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe acts as Merchant of Record for the transaction. This has consequences you should understand:

  • Stripe, not Sync REM Solutions Kft., is the seller of record for the purchase. Stripe issues your receipt and is responsible for collecting and remitting the transaction taxes on it, including VAT.
  • Your purchase is therefore subject to Stripe's purchase terms as well as these Terms. Where those terms govern the payment transaction itself, these Terms govern the Service you receive.
  • We never receive or store your card details. These are collected by Stripe directly.
  • We remain responsible for delivering the Service you purchased, and for the refund entitlements set out in §13. Refunds are administered through Stripe and returned to the original payment method.

When a host initiates a purchase we create an order and a draft event. Both expire automatically 24 hours after creation if payment is not completed. The contract for the Service is formed when payment is confirmed and the corresponding webhook is received, at which point the event is published.

We are not responsible for errors, delays or security incidents attributable solely to the payment provider; direct such claims to the provider in the first instance.

12. Information Collected at Payment

The payment provider collects the legal name on the payment method and a billing address. We never receive or store card details. Providing false information at payment is a material breach and may result in immediate termination without refund.

13. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation requests must be sent to support@aiandsync.com with the order number and event reference. There is no self-service cancellation button.

Where a host cancels more than 30 days before the scheduled event date, the host is entitled to a refund of the amount paid, less any non-refundable transaction or payment-processing fees charged by the applicable payment provider. We will initiate the refund within 14 days after receiving a valid cancellation request, and the refund will be processed by our Merchant of Record (see Section 11). The time required for the refunded amount to appear in your account may depend on your payment provider or financial institution.

If a host cancels an event within 30 days of the scheduled event date, no refund will be provided, except where a refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law.

Where we cancel an event for reasons other than a user's misconduct or violation of these Terms, we will provide a full refund of the amount paid for that event. We will initiate the refund within 14 days after notifying you of the cancellation.

If a participant does not attend an event, no refund will be provided by us. Any admission fee or other amount paid directly to a host is subject to the host's own terms and refund policy. We are not responsible for processing or reimbursing payments made directly to hosts.

Refunds go back to the original payment method.

14. Event Execution

We may move an event to a comparable venue without creating a refund right, provided that the change does not materially affect the nature, quality or core elements of the event. We may also make minor and reasonable adjustments to the event schedule or format where necessary for its safe and orderly operation, provided that such adjustments do not materially alter the event. We may cancel an event where participation falls below the minimum threshold reasonably required for the event to operate as intended. In such a case, the refund rules applicable to cancellation by us will apply.

15. Refusal of Entry and Removal

We or the host may refuse entry to, or remove, any person who appears to be under 18 or cannot satisfy an age check; is intoxicated or behaving unsafely; harasses or threatens others; breaches the Community Guidelines; or intentionally misrepresents their identity or impersonates another person.

Where reasonably necessary to protect the safety and well-being of participants or the orderly operation of the event, we or the host may take immediate action, including refusing entry to or removing a person from the event.

Removal from an event for misconduct does not create a refund right.

Any removals from an event may be recorded, including the person or entity who carried out the removal and the reason for the removal. Where we suspend or terminate a person's access to the platform as a result of such conduct, we will inform them of the applicable rule or reason and available appeal options, in accordance with our obligations under the Digital Services Act.

16. Conduct at Events

Participants must behave respectfully towards other participants, hosts, venue staff, and any other persons attending an event.

You must not engage in conduct that creates an unsafe, intimidating, hostile, or disruptive environment, including harassment, discrimination, unwanted sexual advances, intimidation, threats, violence, or any other unlawful or abusive behaviour.

Participation in an event, receiving a compatibility recommendation, or matching with another participant does not constitute consent to any physical contact, romantic interaction, exchange of contact details, or further communication. Consent must always be voluntary, specific, and may be withdrawn at any time. If another participant indicates that they do not wish to interact, you must immediately stop that interaction.

Participants must comply with any reasonable safety instructions given by the host or venue staff during the event.

Where we or the host reasonably believe that a participant's conduct breaches these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or creates a risk to the safety, well-being, or experience of others, we or the host may immediately refuse entry to or remove that participant from the event in accordance with Section 15.

If you experience or witness conduct that makes you feel unsafe, you should notify the host or venue staff as soon as reasonably possible. In an emergency, contact the applicable emergency services first and report the incident to us afterwards through the reporting tools available in the Service or by contacting our support team.

Consumption of alcohol is subject to the venue's rules. Participants remain responsible for their own consumption of alcohol or other substances. We and the host may refuse entry to, or remove, participants who appear intoxicated or whose behaviour is unsafe or materially disruptive.

17. Photographs, Selfies and Recording

Joining a live event requires at least two profile photographs and a live selfie taken in the Application at the time you join the event. Your photographs and selfie are visible to other joined participants at that event.

The live selfie is collected solely for the purpose of helping verify that the person attending the event matches the participant's profile. Your profile photographs and live selfie are visible only to other participants who have joined the same event.

The live selfie is used only for identity verification in connection with that event and is deleted after the host closes the event, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We or a host acting on our behalf may photograph or record an event for promotional, marketing, or documentation purposes.

Participants will be informed if official photography or video recording is taking place at the event. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before using photographs or recordings in which you are identifiable for promotional or marketing purposes.

If you do not wish to appear in official event photographs or recordings, you may notify the host or our team before or during the event, and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your preference in recordings under our control.

Participants must not photograph, film, livestream, or otherwise record other participants without their prior permission.

Participants must not publish, upload, share, or otherwise distribute identifiable photographs or recordings of other participants without an appropriate legal basis, including the consent of other participants.

Failure to comply with this Section or the Community Guidelines may result in removal from the event or further action under these Terms.

18. Matching and Compatibility Scoring

In the Application two automated systems operate, and they do different things. The Service uses automated compatibility scoring to generate match recommendations for participants attending events. The compatibility score is generated using information provided by participants, including questionnaire responses, profile information, stated preferences, and other compatibility-related inputs.

The compatibility score is an automated recommendation only. It is intended to help participants discover potentially compatible people and does not constitute a guarantee of compatibility, mutual interest, romantic attraction, or the likelihood of any relationship or meeting.

At live events, a compatibility score is used to rank or recommend participants within the event. It never hides anyone, never filters, and never pairs. A match occurs only when two people independently indicate interest in each other.

A match is created only when the conditions communicated for the relevant event are satisfied, such as where participants mutually express interest through the Service or where questionnaire-based pairings are released by the host.

At questionnaire-based events, the system generates suggested pairings from participants' answers. The host triggers the run, may re-run it before releasing the results, and decides when to release them.

Compatibility scoring is based on the information available at the time the participant joins the relevant event or completes the questionnaire for that event. Changes made to a participant's profile after that point may not affect compatibility recommendations for the ongoing event.

You acknowledge that:

  • Output is advisory. It does not promise a connection and does not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
  • Scoring reads a snapshot of your profile frozen when you joined the event. Editing your profile during an event does not change that event's scores.
  • A run requires a minimum number of eligible participants, and for balanced events a minimum distribution by gender. Where the minimum participation threshold or other operational requirements are not met, compatibility recommendations may not be generated, and the event may be modified, postponed, or cancelled in accordance with Section 14.
  • Stated preferences, including age range, are weighted inputs, not filters. They do not guarantee that everyone shown falls within the range you stated.
  • Technical interruption of scoring is not in itself a failure of the Service, provided the in-person event proceeds. We will use reasonable efforts to provide an alternative.

The categories of information used, and your rights in relation to automated processing, are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Participants acknowledge that compatibility recommendations are not exclusive. A participant may receive recommendations involving more than one participant, and other participants may receive recommendations involving the same person.

19. User-Generated Content

You represent that you have the rights to the content you upload, and you grant us a licence to host, display and process it as required to provide the Service. You remain responsible for its legality. We may remove content that breaches these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or the law.

Content you upload is screened automatically before other users see it. Contact details — phone numbers, email addresses, social handles and links — are removed from free text automatically.

20. Promotions and Discount Codes

Discount codes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and may be withdrawn or expire. We may refuse a code that has been obtained or used improperly.

21. Intellectual Property

The Service, its software, design, brand and content are owned by Sync REM Solutions Kft. or its licensors. These Terms grant no licence to them beyond use of the Service as intended.

22. Trade Secrets and Confidentiality

Certain non-public aspects of the Service, including the design, weighting, configuration, operation, and other technical or commercial details of our matching and compatibility scoring systems, may constitute confidential information or trade secrets of Sync REM Solutions Kft. or its licensors.

You must not, except as permitted by applicable law:

  • reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, models, weighting, or technical operation of the Service;
  • systematically probe, test, or manipulate the Service for the purpose of reconstructing or circumventing its matching or compatibility scoring systems; or
  • disclose, reproduce, or use confidential information or trade secrets obtained through your use of the Service for any purpose other than using the Service as intended.

Nothing in this Section limits any rights you may have under Section 18 or under applicable data protection or other mandatory law to receive information about the operation of the compatibility scoring system or to understand how a recommendation concerning you was generated.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for the quality, character, conduct or outcome of any match, interaction or meeting between users, at an event or afterwards.
  • We are not liable for the acts or omissions of hosts, venues, or other users. Hosts are independent operators.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits or loss of data.
  • Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific event that gave rise to it. Where you paid us nothing for the relevant Service, our aggregate liability is limited to EUR 100.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here limits your mandatory rights as a consumer.

24. Force Majeure

Neither party will be liable for any failure to perform, or delay in performing, its obligations under these Terms to the extent that the failure or delay is caused by an event or circumstance beyond that party's reasonable control.

Such events may include, without limitation, natural disasters, extreme weather, epidemics or pandemics, fire, flood, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes or other labour disputes, government action or restrictions, changes in applicable law, interruptions to telecommunications or internet services, power or utility failures, cyber incidents affecting essential infrastructure, or the failure, interruption, or unavailability of third-party service providers, payment providers, hosting providers, or other essential suppliers.

A force majeure event will excuse or delay performance only for the period and to the extent that it actually prevents or materially interferes with the affected party's ability to perform its obligations. The affected party will use reasonable efforts to mitigate the effects of the event and to resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable.

Where a force majeure event affects an event organized by a host, the host remains responsible for communicating with participants regarding any cancellation, postponement, relocation, or material change to the event and for complying with any applicable refund obligations under these Terms and applicable law.

25. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes are notified in the Service or by email at least 14 days before taking effect, and you will be asked to accept them in the application. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

26. Termination

You may close your account at any time from within the application, or by contacting support@aiandsync.com. What happens to your data is described in the Account Deletion policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account where you materially breach these Terms or the Community Guidelines, where required by law or a regulator, or where continued provision would expose us or others to legal risk. Termination for a child-safety breach is permanent and not subject to reinstatement.

Sections 19, 21, 22, 23 and 27 survive termination.

27. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. The courts of Hungary have jurisdiction to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence, and you retain the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of that country.

Before formal proceedings, contact support@aiandsync.com so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve your complaint, you may turn free of charge to the conciliation body (békéltető testület) competent for our registered seat:

Pest Vármegyei Békéltető Testület

  • Address: 1055 Budapest, Balassi Bálint u. 25. IV. em. 2.
  • Telephone: +36 1 792 7881
  • Email: pmbekelteto@pmkik.hu
  • Website: https://panaszrendezes.hu
  • Hivatali kapu (KRID): 560351920

You may also apply to the conciliation body competent for your own place of residence. We are obliged to cooperate in the conciliation procedure, which for us means answering the body's request and attending the hearing, in person or by electronic means. We have not made a general declaration submitting to the body's decisions as binding, so its decision takes the form of a recommendation (ajánlás) unless we state otherwise in the individual case.

28. Severability

If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the rest continue in force, and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one reflecting the original intent as closely as possible.

29. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Community Guidelines, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Child Safety Standards, the Account Deletion policy, and any event-specific rules presented at registration, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sync REM Solutions Kft. in relation to the Service.

30. Contact

support@aiandsync.com — Sync REM Solutions Kft., 2040 Budaörs, Szabadság út 219. 1. em. 2. ajtó.

You may contact us using the email address above for questions, complaints, or notices relating to the Service or these Terms.

31. Live Event-Specific Provisions

In addition to the rest of these Terms, for events using live in-person matching:

  • Joining requires a completed profile, at least two photographs, a live selfie, and acceptance of the event's consent notice. Participants who do not complete these steps cannot join. Venue access is a matter for the host.
  • Scanning another guest's QR code resolves only while you and that person are both joined participants of the same event and that event is running. Every unsuccessful scan returns the same generic result, deliberately, so that scanning cannot be used to determine whether someone is present, has blocked you, or has left.
  • Blocking is global and mutual. It hides both people from each other in every event and unmatches them everywhere. Unblocking restores visibility but does not restore matches.
  • Presence and availability statuses you set are visible to other guests at that event.
  • Technical availability. Temporary unavailability of scoring during an event does not in itself constitute a failure of the Service, provided the event proceeds. Complaints about availability must be raised in writing to support@aiandsync.com within 24 hours of the end of the event.
  • Device and connectivity are your responsibility. We are not liable for participant-side technical problems.
  • When the host closes the event, all participants are removed from it and event selfies are deleted.
  • Participants must follow any reasonable instructions given by the host or venue staff concerning entry, safety, event procedures, and the orderly operation of the event.
  • The host may change the event's practical arrangements, including seating, timing, or venue areas, where reasonably necessary for the safe and orderly operation of the event, subject to Section 14.
  • Nothing in this Section limits any rights or obligations arising under applicable data-protection or consumer-protection law.
